The Catholic communities of Bellevue and Dayton want you to know that you are loved by God and precious in his eyes.
Jesus Christ is the answer to the longing all people find deep within their hearts. He is the Savior of the world who gave his life to redeem us from our sins and win for us the gift of eternal life. He conquered death, proving his claim to be God by rising from the dead. Jesus, who is both God and Man, loves you.
The Christian religion is not primarily a philosophy, moral code or set of beliefs. Although it contains all of these, it is first and foremost a saving, personal encounter with the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.
Jesus can help you with whatever difficulties you may be facing in your life. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. By entrusting your life to Jesus, and following his commandments of love, you can know his promise of Eternal Life, through the forgiveness of your sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. In baptism, we become his disciples, as part of His divine family, the Church, which he founded as our sure guide and support. (see Mat 16:18; Lk 22:29; Eph 3: 9-10; 1Tim 3:15; Mat 18:17; 1Cor 12:28; Acts 14:23)
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” John 3:16
If you are a lapsed or former Catholic, know that we miss you and God’s mercy waits for you in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
There are thousands of different Christian denominations, all teaching different and contradictory things. Only one church goes all the way back to Jesus and the 12 Apostles. Only one church has always taught the same doctrines for 2,000 years. It is on the authority of this church that we have the New Testament, because its authority predates the New Testament and come from Christ himself.

Pope Francis asked the following question during a homily:
“How is our faith going? Is it strong? Or is it sometimes a little bit superficial? … are we courageous like Peter or a bit lukewarm?”
Peter – he pointed out– did not keep his faith on the low and did not make any compromises because “faith cannot be negotiated.”
“Throughout history, the people of God have always been tempted to chop a piece off faith,” the Pope said. “But when we start to cut down on faith, to negotiate faith, selling it to the highest bidder we take the path of apostasy, we begin to lack faith, lack faith in the Lord.”
